Pinochle is a card game played with a 48- or 80-card deck of 9s, 10s, jacks, queens, kings and aces. The game consists of a repeating sequence of bidding (for the right to name the trump suit and optionally to pass cards), melding, and trick-taking. Players score points by melding various card combinations and by taking tricks.
In this version, one human player (South) plays with a computer partner (North) and two computer opponents (West and East).
BIDDING: Each player bids the number of points she thinks she can make with her hand. Player to the dealers left is required to bid, and bidding proceeds to the left. Players who pass are out of the bidding for that hand. A typical high bid is 35 points (for 48 cards) or 60 (for 80 cards). High bidder names the trump suit for the hand and optionally exchanges cards with her partner.
MELDING: Players get points by showing various card combinations. A run (or straight) in the trump suit is worth 15 points. Aces in all four suits is 10 points. Pinochle (queen of spades and jack of diamonds) is 4 points, or 30 points for double pinochle (two of each).
TRICKS: Play begins with the high bidder, and proceeds around the table to the left, 4 cards per trick. Each trick has a winner, who gets 1 point per ace, ten or king.
SCORING: If the high bidder fails to make the bid (his teams total meld plus trick points is less than the bid), the bid amount is subtracted from the team score. Play continues until one team goes out.

The icons have shrunk way too much in iOS 5. I hope this can be fixed. Otherwise, its a fun, well programmed game.
Good game, challenging, lots of options; on occasion the partner will make a dumb move but generally speaking its a good app and fun.
I enjoy this game most of the time but you sure have the players set to make some dumb moves. Anyone who knows how to play would not throw away a double Pinochle or send your partner 2 jacks of different suits for no good reason.
Our friends were trying to teach us to play Pinochle, and I was having a hard time understanding the rules. I downloaded this game, and it really helped me "get" it. Thank you! I sometimes wish my partner would be more aggressive (even though theyre maxed out). I love the Bid or Bunch option, which our friends use.
I have been playing almost my whole life and that is a while. What I dont understand is when your partner say has aces and when you name trump he doesnt give you the ace of trump. I have had this happen several times when I needed the ace for a run and I dont get it. Now a run is worth 15 and the Aces are worth 10. Now for me I rather have the run.
Some bad moments
Ive played this game a lot and used to like it but Im tired of my partner trying to outbid me and the other team getting irrationally amazing hands.
How often can one team get double Pinochle plus know their partner will pass it to them? And I can have a beautiful run but the other team outbids me and has a run plus aces. I never see this happen in real life as often as it does in this game.

Game is kind of fun but is sure gets old when the computer is getting all the good cards and I, the live player, gets trash! Double runs at least 2-3x a game. Look for a better app!!
Ok game if you dont know how to play. Terrible game if you have any knowledge at all. Completely frustrating when you have to play against the computer that makes no rational Pinochle plays. You dont bid on double Pinochle when you have nothing else in your hand. You rarely get dealt anything worthwhile to bid with. Way too many double Pinochle show up.
The programmer needs to be more realistic. I love playing Pinochle but can usually only play 5 minutes before I want to throw my phone because of how frustrating the game play is.
I used to play this game all of the time, now my partner is terrible. They dont pass how anybody would pass in normal games. It seems they are only concerned with their own meld. So, until an update. I am not playing anymore, as it is no longer fun. Example I needed 1 card for a double run and my partner, who had a run in trump, did not pass any trump, rather junk. Really?! Fix it!
All the hands are repeats. Very boring now. Plus partner is rather stupid. Nice game but needs fix!
Double handed play is not so good as your partner cares more about his hand than yours when passing cards.
